The San Francisco band Girls, has one of the highest rated albums of 2009 on Pitchfork media. Their album “Album” received a 9.1 rating out of 10. Christopher Owens, Girls lead singer, is a former member of the Children of God cult. The sound of Girls has been compared to Elvis Costello, Buddy Holly, and the Beach Boys by the New York Times.
