The Magnetic Fields

The Magnetic Fields serves primarily as the creative outlet for singer-songwriter Stephin Merritt. The band originally started as a one-man band, a studio project that consisted of Merritt playing all of the instruments. Later a live band was put together and they produced their most significant album "69 Love Songs." The album incorporates unorthodox instruments such as banjos, ukuleles, accordions, and so on. Merritt is known for his ironic, bitter, and even humorous lyrics about love. Check out "All My Little Words" from their album "69 Love Songs."
