Hot Chip are a british electropop band who formed in 2000 in London. The band self released albums until signing with the Moshi Moshi label which now includes artists such as Bloc Party and Kate Nash. The band has released four albums, of which the third, titled "Made in the Dark," includes the Grammy-nominated single "Ready for the Floor." Though their previous albums have been driven by "pulse-like techno beats," singer Alexis Taylor commented that One Life Stand, which was released on February 1st, is calmer, with songs that are more mid-tempo and disco influenced. They have appeared at numerous music festivals, including Coachella and Austin City Limits, where they created an "excited and energetic atmosphere."
