Executive Board
The Cornell Concert Commission Executive Board is comprised of six directors, all of whom are students at Cornell. Here is a brief introduction to the 2008 Executive board, who will serve until the end of Fall 2008, in case you might be interested in running for the 2009 Exec Board.
Executive Director (Pat Maloney)
The Executive Director is the central leader of the Cornell Concert Commission. As the main link between the CCC and all others, he meets regularly with university officials, staff, organizations, and students, as well as people outside the university. He runs all Executive Board and general membership meetings, conducts elections, and handles all co-promotions. On the day of show, he oversees the Security Crew.
Administrative Director (Mandy Hjellming)
The Administrative Director is responsible for making all room reservations for CCC meetings, as well as taking minutes and attendance at those meetings. She is also responsible for recruiting new members, planning social events, and managing the office. On the day of show, the Administrative Director heads the Hospitality Crew.
Finance Director (Liz Rapoport)
The Finance Director's main responsibility is to oversee the annual budget. She is responsible for paying and keeping records of all bills that accumulate throughout the year. The Finance Director orders tickets for each show, and presents the ticket count at all meetings. On the day of show, the she heads the Box Office Crew with the Promotion Director.
Production Director (Mike "Tex" Garrett)
The Production Director has a wide range of responsibilities. He is primarily in charge of day-of-show operations, overseeing the Stage Crew directly and all other Crews indirectly. The Production Director secures all campus and local services such as Cornell Police, Environmental Health & Safety, Emergency Medical Services, sound, lighting, and T-shirts, as well as being the primary contact between CCC and the performer's management.
Promotion Director (Emily Isaacs)
The Promotion Director has the charge of publicizing concerts to the Cornell community and to the towns and cities surrounding Ithaca. This involves design and distribution of flyers, posters and quarter cards for on-campus promo in addition to putting together admats for newspapers and commercials for radio, and arranging reviews of our shows. In doing all this, the Promotions Director must organize general members to help spread the word, poster, quarter-card, chalk, and talk up the show.
Selection Director (Bob Jerry)
The Selection Director is responsible for speaking with agents, finding bands, and preparing budgets for each avail. He then presents the avails to the general membership, oversees voting, and sends out offers for bands. On the day of show, the Selection Director heads the Ticket Taking Crew.
